Job summary
Chart Industries is seeking an Applications Engineer to support field sales with technical and commercial evaluations from inquiry to order. You will review customer specs, develop proposals for centrifugal turbo-expanders, turbo-compressors, and related equipment, and coordinate with engineering and sales teams.
You will lead technical discussions, perform calculations, and ensure proposals align with customer needs and internal costs.
Qualifications
- BS in Engineering or related field.
- Experience bidding/proposal preparation for engineered equipment or systems.
- Ability to read technical drawings including P&IDs.
- Experience with API & ASME codes.
- Strong communication skills to interface with internal personnel and external customers.
- Self-starter who can work independently without close supervision.
Responsibilities
- Receive and review customer specifications for technical and commercial requirements for new equipment projects and develop proposals.
- Perform technical review of customer specifications and ensure design meets agreed specifications.
- Perform calculations and product selections to meet customer process needs.
- Lead technical and commercial proposal communications with customers to steer acceptance of solutions.
- Drive internal proposal process across sales, engineering, and supply chain to account for costs and scheduling.
- Maintain accurate records of opportunities, quotes, and projects in Salesforce.
