Job summary

Eaton is seeking an Application Engineer for the Critical Power Projects team. This fully remote role allows up to 10% travel and is open to candidates in designated US states. Salary ranges from $86,000 to $126,000 per year and includes a variable incentive program.

You will develop technical solutions for UPS systems, prepare proposals and cost estimates, and coordinate handoffs through project execution with Sales, Project Management, and Engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and minimum one year experience in electrical contractor estimating / proposal writing, or associate’s with three years, or five years without degree in electrical contractor estimating / proposal writing, application engineering, UPS systems.
• Must reside within Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, or Massachusetts.
• Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship; background checks and drug screenings may apply.

Responsibilities

• Interpret project specifications and drawings to develop technical solutions and assist Sales with UPS system proposals and bids.
• Prepare and lead development of proposals, cost estimates, pricing schedules, and milestones for projects up to $2M with cross-functional collaboration.
• Serve as the primary technical liaison between customers, UPS manufacturers, Sales, and Project Operations through proposal and handoff, with up to 10% travel.
• Review customer orders and project documentation for accuracy and support successful project execution.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field

Associate’s degree with 3 years experience in electrical contractor estimating / proposal writing

5+ years' experience in electrical contractor estimating / proposal writing, application engineering, UPS systems
