Job summary

Eaton is seeking an Application Engineer for a fully remote role with up to 10% travel. The position supports Critical Power projects, developing technical solutions and proposals for UPS systems.

Candidates will collaborate with Sales, Project Management, and Engineering to ensure accurate BOMs and successful project handoff. Applicants should have a relevant degree or equivalent experience, with UPS systems expertise and strong proposal-writing skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 1+ year experience in electrical contractor estimating/proposal writing or application engineering on UPS systems.
• In lieu of degree, 5+ years of related field/estimating experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Interpret project specifications and drawings to develop technical solutions and assist Sales with UPS proposals and Bills of Materials.
• Lead development of proposals, cost estimates, pricing schedules, values, and milestones for projects up to $2M.
• Serve as technical liaison between customers, UPS manufacturers, Sales, and Project Operations; include site visits as needed (up to 10% travel).
• Review orders and project docs; coordinate handoffs and prepare submittals and order summaries for execution.
