Job summary

Fortinet is seeking an AI Sales Engineer in Sunnyvale, CA (remote options) to drive pre-sales activities for AI security solutions. You will partner with the AI Sales Specialist, lead technical engagements, and deliver compelling demonstrations and POCs for enterprise customers.

You will collaborate with sales, engineering, and partners to close opportunities, train regional SE teams, and help deploy AI security in customer environments. Travel up to 50% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer science, data science, information systems, or related technical field.
• 5+ years of technical sales experience, including at least 2 years AI specialization.
• Experience engaging with AI/security evaluators (cloud engineers, data scientists, AI architects).
• Understanding of core AI technologies (ML, DL, generative AI).
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Deep understanding of AI security concepts (access controls, identity, network integration, EDR, guardrails).
• Familiarity with agentic AI tools and AI infra is preferred.
• Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Experience deploying production apps on AWS/Azure/GCP.
• Ability to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the AI Sales Specialist to shape and execute the GTM strategy for AI Security solutions across the region.
• Enable and train regional Sales Engineers on product capabilities and demonstrations.
• Provide support for technical discovery, architecture deep dives, and POCs throughout the sales cycle.
• Assist customers with deploying AI Security solutions in self-hosted environments.
• Maintain demo environments, certifications, and training materials.
• Engage channel and reseller partners with the technical resources to close opportunities.
• Collaborate with internal teams to identify, qualify, and close AI Security business.
• Lead customer-facing engagements including architecture reviews and product demos.
• Facilitate post-sales handovers to ensure successful deployments and customer success.
• Cultivate relationships with CTOs, CISOs, and AI leaders; educate customers on best practices.
