Job summary

Fortinet, Inc. in Sunnyvale, CA, is seeking an AI Sales Engineer to support pre-sales for our AI Security solutions. You will partner with the AI Sales Specialist to drive GTM, enable regional Sales Engineers, and lead technical engagements from discovery to deployment.

You will travel up to 50%, demonstrate architectures, manage demos, train partners, and educate customers on agentic AI best practices while promoting Fortinet as the market leader in AI security.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field (EE/CS/DS/IS).
• 5+ years of technical sales experience, including ≥2 years in AI.
• Experience engaging with cloud/AI security engineers, data scientists, and AI/ML architects.
• Hands-on Docker and containerized workloads; Kubernetes experience.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and containerized workloads, Kubernetes (EKS, GKE, or equivalent).
• Deep understanding of core AI security concepts (e.g., access controls, identity management, network integration, endpoint detection and response, red-teaming, guardrails)
• Familiarity with popular agentic AI tools, AI infrastructure, and their associated security implications is preferred.
• Exemplary written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
• Experience deploying production applications on cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Ability to travel up to 50% to develop customer relationships and advance opportunities

Responsibilities

• Partner with the AI Sales Specialist to shape and execute GTM for AI Security; expand accounts and drive greenfield acquisitions.
• Enable and train regional Sales Engineers on product capabilities, roadmap, and demos.
• Provide technical discovery, architecture deep-dives, POCs, and drive outcomes across the sales cycle.
• Assist customers with deployment of AI Security solutions in self-hosted environments.
• Maintain demo environments, demos and training materials, and performance benchmarking.
• Engage partners to equip them with technical expertise to close AI Security opportunities.
• Collaborate with internal teams to identify, qualify, and close AI Security business.
• Lead customer-facing engagements: architecture reviews, integrations, demos, and technical training.
• Facilitate post-sales handovers to ensure successful deployments and customer success.
• Cultivate relationships with CTOs, CISOs, and enterprise AI leaders.
• Educate customers on agentic AI best practices and Fortinet AI leadership.
