Job summary

Charter Impact is seeking an Accounts Payable Associate for a remote-first role nationwide, with focus on clients in several states. You’ll process invoices, maintain vendor records, manage weekly check runs, and ensure proper approvals and GL coding, while upholding accuracy and timely payments.

The ideal candidate has 2 years of AP experience or a related degree, strong Excel skills, and the ability to work with clients across multiple entities.

Qualifications

• Two years of related experience or a bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, public administration, or related field.
• Accounts payable experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of accrual accounting principles and procedures.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and proper English usage.

Responsibilities

• Perform accounts payable duties with accuracy and timeliness to assure positive vendor relations.
• Ensure invoices are approved by proper client personnel.
• Verify cash availability and perform payment selections.
• Void checks, reissue payments, and reverse invoices as necessary.
• Prepare rush payments.
• Provide data entry and GL coding for invoices for multiple entities.
• Generate AP aging and weekly check registers for clients.
• Maintain recurring payments schedules and leases and ensure timely payment.
• Communicate with clients about discrepancies and inquiries.
