Job summary

CONTACT Care Line is seeking a fully remote Crisis Counselor for a full-time, 40-hour schedule. Shifts are 8.5 hours with weekend days required. Responsibilities include assessing suicide risk, offering compassionate support, timely documentation, and coordinating with visitors to create safety plans.

You'll respond to 988 chat, text, and calls, manage two chats during chat shifts, and engage in follow-ups and training. Strong confidentiality and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field, or equivalent experience required.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in mental health, crisis intervention, or a related field.
• Ability to remain calm and apply logical reasoning in high-stress or high-risk situations.

Responsibilities

• Respond to 988 chat, text, and telephone interactions in a timely and compassionate manner.
• Assess and mitigate suicide risk using established protocols and safety planning procedures.
• Provide referrals to appropriate community resources as needed.
• Accurately and thoroughly document all visitor interactions; follow clinical and operational protocols.
• Maintain an active presence in Slack during scheduled shifts and participate in Teams meetings.
