Job summary

Guidant Financial is recruiting for a Retirement Plan Operations Specialist to administer 401(k) plans and support year-end reporting. The role offers fully remote work across select US states and emphasis on learning, accuracy, and client service.

You will review client documents, perform plan testing and filings, and guide customers through 5500 reporting while using Excel and specialized software. A back-office finance background and strong MS Office skills are required.

Qualifications

• Experience with document review and transaction processing.
• 1 to 5 years in adjacent back-office financial operations.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Direct retirement-plan operations experience preferred.
• Experience with reconciliation preferred.
• Associate's or bachelor's degree in business/finance or related field preferred.
• Basic knowledge of 401(k) plan structure, ROBS, and IRS/DOL regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with clients to obtain necessary information to prepare the annual reporting.
• Review documents submitted by clients for completeness and accuracy.
• Reconcile plans using Excel and administration software.
• Utilize administration software to complete 401(k) testing and reporting.
• Make outgoing reminder calls and emails to clients during the plan year reporting process.
• Prepare required 401(k) plan government filings, including IRS Form 5500.
• Educate clients regarding the administration of their 401(k) plan.
