Job summary

Guidant Financial is seeking a Retirement Plan Operations Specialist to learn and perform the full process of administering, testing, and reporting on 401(k) plans. You will review client-submitted documents, communicate progress, and guide clients through year-end reporting requirements including the 5500.

You will receive accelerated training and practical experience to grow from document review to administering basic plans, with an ESOP-focused culture and robust benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience with document review and transaction processing is part of daily responsibilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Direct retirement-plan operations experience (401(k) or IRA administration, recordkeeping, distributions and rollovers, compliance testing, or 5500/year-end reporting) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with clients to obtain necessary information to prepare annual reporting.
• Review documents submitted by clients for completeness and accuracy.
• Reconcile plans with rollovers and plan stock using Excel and administration software.
• Utilize administration software to complete 401(k) testing and reporting.
• Make outgoing reminder calls and send emails to clients during the plan year reporting process.
• Prepare required 401(k) plan government filings, including IRS Form 5500, using filing software.
• Educate clients regarding the administration of their 401(k) plan.
