Job summary

Guidant Financial is offering a fully remote Retirement Plan Operations Specialist role. You will administer, test, and report on 401(k) plans, starting from document review to year-end filing with guidance and accelerated training.

You will review client-submitted documents, keep clients updated on progress, and use our software to complete testing and reporting while helping educate clients about plan administration.

Qualifications

• Experience with document review and transaction processing.
• 1 to 5 years of adjacent back-office financial operations experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Direct retirement-plan operations experience is preferred.
• Experience with reconciliation is preferred.
• Associate's or bachelor's degree in business/finance preferred.
• Basic knowledge of 401(k) plan structure and IRS/DOL regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with clients to obtain information to prepare annual reporting.
• Review documents submitted by clients for completeness and accuracy.
• Reconcile plans using Excel and administration software.
• Use administration software to complete 401(k) testing and reporting.
• Make reminder calls and send emails during the plan year reporting process.
• Prepare 401(k) government filings including IRS Form 5500.
• Educate clients regarding administration of their 401(k) plan.
