This part-time, non‑exempt role emphasizes bilingual service (English/Spanish), customer care, and teamwork with Providers and staff to keep our clinics running smoothly and access to care seamless for our community.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One year of experience as a Receptionist in a clinic preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish speaking at level 9 is required.
• Ability to prioritize work and handle multiple tasks with interruptions.
• Professional interaction with patients, Providers, and staff.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
• Basic knowledge of healthcare billing/insurance.
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Answer the phone, transfer calls and take messages for the clinic.
• Greet patients and manage logs; notify arrivals; provide translation as needed.
• Ensure data and forms are collected; register new patients and update records.
• Schedule appointments per guidelines; notify providers of no-shows and cancellations; adjust schedules.
• Verify insurance eligibility and file insurance documentation; answer questions about plans.
• Respond to patients' questions in person, by phone, or via portal.
• May perform routine billing like posting encounters and end-of-day reports.
• Review cash receipts and reconcile daily cash box.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
