Job summary

Yakima Valley Farmworkers Clinic OB/GYN in Yakima, WA seeks a Medical Receptionist to be the welcoming first point of contact, manage appointments, assist with patient data, and support billing and insurance processes.

You will greet patients, translate when needed, handle phone calls, maintain records, and collaborate with Providers to ensure smooth clinic operations. This is a 1.0 FTE position with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• One year's experience as a Receptionist in a clinic preferred.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) with ALTA score of 9 preferred.
• Ability to prioritize work and handle multiple tasks with interruptions.
• Interact with patients, providers and staff professionally.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
• Basic knowledge of healthcare billing and insurance.

Responsibilities

• Answers the phone, transfers calls and takes messages for the clinic.
• Greet patients and maintain logs; notify appropriate person of arrivals; provide translation as needed.
• Create and maintain patient charts and update data in the system.
• Schedule patient appointments and manage cancellations and recalls.
• Verify insurance eligibility and file documentation; answer questions on plans.
• Respond to patient questions in person, by phone, and via patient portal.
• Assist with routine billing tasks and end-of-day reporting.
• Review cash box receipts and reconcile daily.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
