Job summary

Yakima Medical-Dental Clinic in Yakima, WA is seeking a Relief Medical Receptionist to serve as the frontline for patient interaction, data entry, and appointment coordination. You will greet patients, manage logs, and translate as needed to ensure a welcoming, efficient visit.

The role requires strong customer service, basic medical terminology knowledge, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinic environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One year's experience as a receptionist in a clinic preferred.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) with ALTA score of 9 entitlement.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) speaking skills required at a level 9.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks with frequent interruptions.
• Professional and courteous interaction with patients, Providers and staff.
• Excellent customer service mindset.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare billing.

Responsibilities

• Answer the phone, transfer calls and take messages for the clinic.
• Greet patients and maintain logs; notify appropriate person of patient arrival; provide translation as needed.
• Create and maintain patient charts; register new patients and update data in the computer.
• Schedule patient appointments per guidelines; notify Providers of no-shows and cancellations; adjust schedules accordingly.
• Verify insurance eligibility and file insurance documents; assist patients with questions about plans as needed.
• Respond to patient questions in person, by phone, and through patient portals.
• Perform routine billing tasks as needed and process payments; generate end-of-day reports.
• Review cash receipts and reconcile daily cash box.
