Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required as minimum education.
• Experience in a clinic, optometry or dental office preferred.
• Bilingual differential compensation eligibility when ALTA score is 9.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) required at a level 9.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with interruptions.
• Proficiency with common computer programs (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Answers the phone, transfers calls and takes messages as needed for the clinic.
• Greets patients and maintains patient and visitor log; provides translation as needed.
• Ensures accurate data collection; creates patient charts and updates data in the computer.
• Schedules patient appointments according to guidelines; notifies providers of no-shows and cancellations.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and handles related questions.
• Performs routine billing tasks and generates end-of-day reports.
• Reviews cash box receipts and reconciles daily cash.
• Manages referrals from inception to completion; handles recall communications.
• Creates treatment plan estimates and collects upfront fees.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
