Job summary

Canon USA is a leading imaging company seeking a field service engineer to provide on-site and remote technical support for regional technicians and service agents. You will troubleshoot complex hardware, firmware, and workflow issues and guide colleagues on revisions and upgrades.

Role requires 4–6 years of related experience, HS Diploma or equivalent, and electronics/mechanical training. 24/7 availability and security clearances may be required. Transportation allowance offered.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required.
• Associate's degree in mechanical or electronics or equivalent experience required.
• Printer knowledge and testing/diagnostic applications.
• Ability to achieve customer satisfaction and loyalty.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to obtain security clearances as needed.
• Technical certifications such as A+, Network+, MCSE desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provides on-going technical, on-site and phone support to regional Canon USA direct technicians and applicable service agents to troubleshoot highly complex problems including hardware, firmware and workflow.
• Provides regional instruction on new adjustments, repairs, upgrades and troubleshooting procedures.
• May create, organize and disseminate information for other engineers.
• Maintains and updates applicable problem records and escalates issues as needed.
• Manages regional FCO database for compliance and timely installation/disposition.
• Collaborates with Product support on information sharing and best practices.
• Takes on special projects or tasks as assigned by regional service Director or designee.
