Job summary

SilkRoad is seeking a Production Manager for Commercial Grounds Maintenance in Durham, NC. You will lead multiple crews, schedule routes, and manage equipment to ensure high-quality, safe service while boosting client satisfaction.

You will supervise Crew Leaders, enforce safety policies, and track labor against budgets. This role also involves client communications, inventory management, and ongoing professional development within a growing team.

Qualifications

• Leadership to motivate diverse teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills to adapt to weather, equipment, or scheduling changes.
• Understanding of labor hours, material costs, and profitability for the branch.

Responsibilities

• Schedule daily maintenance crews, optimize routes, labor hours and equipment deployment.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure contract quality, safety, and turf health.
• Identify landscape enhancements and coordinate with account management to propose client solutions.
• Coordinate procurement and timely delivery of materials (plants, mulch, chemicals, fertilizers).
• Recruit, onboard and develop Crew Leaders and field staff; promote safety culture.
• Enforce safety policies; conduct tailgate meetings and ensure proper PPE use.
• Monitor labor hours vs budget and coach crews to meet production goals.
• Maintain vehicles, trailers and equipment; schedule preventative maintenance.
• Respond to client inquiries and resolve service-related requests within 24 hours.
• Track labor time and site photos using landscape management software.
