Job summary

Bland Landscaping Company is seeking a Commercial Grounds Maintenance Production Manager to lead multiple maintenance crews and ensure service excellence across client sites in Durham, NC.

The role blends leadership, agronomic knowledge, logistics, and customer service to maximize field productivity while driving client satisfaction and retention. The PM will manage scheduling, safety, equipment, and reporting with a focus on quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of supervisory experience in commercial landscape maintenance or a closely related green-industry field.
• Strong understanding of turfgrass management, plant identification, pruning techniques, and chemical/fertilizer applications.
• Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record (Required). Commercial Pesticide Applicator License or landscape industry certifications (e.g., CLT, ONDA) are highly preferred.
• Proficient with smartphone/tablet operations and industry-specific software (Aspire, LMN, Jobber) for scheduling/tracking.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a significant advantage.

Responsibilities

• Scheduling & Logistics: Direct daily scheduling of maintenance crews, optimizing routes, labor hours, and equipment deployment to maximize efficiency.
• Quality Control: Conduct routine site inspections to ensure contract compliance, identifying property needs, turf health issues, and safety hazards.
• Enhancement Identification: Identify opportunities for landscape improvements and collaborate with account management to propose client solutions.
• Inventory & Materials: Coordinate procurement and timely delivery of materials (plants, mulch, chemicals, fertilizers) for daily operations.
• Crew Management: Recruit, onboard, train, and manage Crew Leaders and field staff; foster accountability and continuous improvement.
• Safety Compliance: Enforce safety policies, conduct weekly tailgate safety meetings, and ensure proper PPE and heavy equipment usage.
• Performance Tracking: Monitor crew labor hours against budgeted hours and coach crews to meet production goals.
• Fleet Oversight: Ensure all vehicles, trailers, and equipment are maintained, operated safely, and kept clean.
• Maintenance Coordination: Schedule routine preventative maintenance with the shop mechanic to minimize downtime.
• Issue Resolution: Serve as a secondary client contact; respond to service-related requests within 24 hours.
• Data Management: Use landscape management software to track labor time, log site photos, and submit daily production reports.
