Job summary

Garver is seeking a Payroll Specialist II to join our Finance Team in Atlanta, Georgia. This role supports a wide range of payroll functions and collaborates with the Corporate Payroll Manager to ensure accurate and compliant payroll processing.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of payroll experience, multi-state processing capability, and certifications (FPC/CPP, ADP). Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Publisher is required, along with strong communication and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2+ years of payroll experience.
• Multi-State payroll processing experience.
• FPC and/or CPP certification.
• ADP Payroll Certification.
• Completion of HIPAA Compliance Training (provided by Garver).
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Publisher.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail and mathematical accuracy.
• Team player in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll using ADP with a high degree of accuracy.
• Enter and reconcile payroll data in HRIS systems and spreadsheets prior to posting payroll.
• Monitor payroll inbox daily and respond to inquiries or payroll changes promptly.
• Maintain professional communication to support employee experience.
• Administer wage garnishments in accordance with IWOs and applicable laws.
• Maintain accurate payroll records for each biweekly payroll cycle.
• Ensure compliance with local, city, and municipal tax filing requirements.
• Audit payroll withholding limits in line with IRS regulations.
• Support ACA reporting requirements.
• Maintain final paychecks in compliance with state law.
• Process offcycle payrolls with quick turnaround times.
• Assist with monthly financial statement preparation.
• Prepare and submit Bureau of Labor Statistics reports as required.
• Standardize and improve payroll procedures for efficiency.
• Assist in creating/updating payroll training guides.
• Provide payroll expertise with accuracy and professionalism.
• Support special projects assigned by Payroll Manager.
• Assist with scheduled external audits.
