Job summary

Garver is seeking a Payroll Specialist II to join our Finance Team in Dallas, TX. This role supports a wide range of payroll functions in collaboration with the Corporate Payroll Manager and the broader Finance Team.

Key duties include processing payroll with ADP, maintaining accurate records, handling inquiries, and ensuring compliance with tax and benefits programs across multiple states. Strong Excel, Word, and Publisher skills are required, with a commitment to confidentiality and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of payroll experience.
• Multi-State payroll processing experience.
• FPC and/or CPP certification.
• ADP Payroll Certification.
• HIPAA compliance training completed.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Publisher.
• Strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll using ADP with a high degree of accuracy.
• Enter and reconcile payroll data in HRIS systems and spreadsheets prior to posting payroll.
• Monitor the payroll inbox daily and respond to inquiries or payroll changes the same day, including raises and compensation adjustments, VOEs, 401(k)/HSA/FSA changes, Tax Updates, W-2 questions, payroll letters and miscellaneous payroll inquiries.
• Ensure timely, professional communication to support excellent employee experience.
• Maintain accurate payroll records with complete documentation for each bi-weekly payroll cycle.
• Ensure compliance with local, city, and municipal tax filing requirements.
• Conduct regular audits of payroll withholding limits (401(k), HSA, FSA) in alignment with IRS regulations.
• Understand and support ACA reporting requirements.
• Maintain compliance with state laws regarding final paychecks.
• Process off-cycle payrolls with quick turnaround times.
• Assist with preparation of monthly financial statements.
• Prepare and submit reports for the Bureau of Labor Statistics as required by state or office location.
• Standardize and improve internal payroll procedures to enhance efficiency.
• Assist in creating and updating payroll training guides using Microsoft Publisher.
• Provide payroll expertise with professionalism, confidence, and a commitment to accuracy.
• Support special projects assigned by the Payroll Manager.
• Assist with scheduled external audits.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
