Garver is seeking a Payroll Specialist II to join our Finance Team in Houston, TX. This role supports payroll processing, data entry, and inquiries, collaborating with the Corporate Payroll Manager to ensure accurate payroll and compliance.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of payroll experience, ADP certification, CPP/FPC, and strong Excel/Publisher skills. The position emphasizes confidentiality, teamwork, and precise data handling.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2+ years of payroll experience.
• Multi-state payroll processing experience.
• FPC and/or CPP certification.
• ADP payroll certification.
• HIPAA compliance training provided by Garver.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Publisher.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll using ADP with high accuracy.
• Enter and reconcile payroll data in HRIS systems and spreadsheets before posting payroll.
• Monitor payroll inbox and respond to inquiries the same day.
• Maintain accurate payroll records for each biweekly cycle.
• Ensure compliance with local, city, and municipal tax filing requirements.
• Conduct audits of payroll withholding limits per IRS regulations.
• Assist with ACA reporting and final paychecks as required.
• Prepare and submit reports for state agencies as needed.
• Standardize payroll procedures to improve efficiency.
• Assist in creating payroll training guides with Microsoft Publisher.
• Support external audits and special payroll projects.
