Garver, LLC in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Payroll Specialist II to join our Finance Team. You will support a broad range of payroll functions in collaboration with the Corporate Payroll Manager and the Finance Team, including ADP payroll processing and data entry across HRIS systems.

The role emphasizes accuracy, confidentiality, multi-state payroll, wage garnishments, ACA reporting, and timely responses to payroll inquiries, with opportunities to contribute to monthly statements and audits.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2+ years of payroll experience.
• Experience with multi-state payroll processing.
• FPC (Fundamental Payroll Certification) and/or CPP (Certified Payroll Professional).
• ADP Payroll Certification.
• HIPAA compliance training completed.
• Strong confidentiality and data security practices.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll using ADP with high accuracy.
• Enter and reconcile payroll data in HRIS systems and spreadsheets.
• Monitor payroll inbox and respond to inquiries promptly.
• Process wage garnishments in accordance with IWOs and laws.
• Maintain payroll records and documentation for each payroll cycle.
• Ensure compliance with local, city, and municipal tax filing.
• Assist with ACA reporting requirements.
• Support preparation of monthly financial statements and reports.
