Southern NH Medical Center is seeking a Patient Service Representative to serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors. You will perform registration, scheduling, referrals, and documentation processing in a fast-paced healthcare setting, ensuring excellent customer service and accuracy.

The role requires strong communication, organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous customer service experience preferred.
• Knowledge of reception functions, clinic procedures, and administrative workflows.
• Understanding of medical terminology preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet, direct, register, check in, and check out patients in a professional and welcoming manner.
• Answer incoming telephone calls, provide information, and schedule patient appointments.
• Enter, track, and manage referrals, including obtaining necessary authorizations.
• Collect, verify, and update patient demographic and insurance information.
• Process registration forms, consent documentation, and medical records accurately.
• Collect and reconcile patient copayments and maintain accurate daily balancing records.
• Scan, index, and maintain patient documentation.
• Coordinate interpreter services when needed.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality standards.
• Provide administrative support and coverage for other staff as needed.
