Job summary

Howard University Hospital Faculty Practice Plan is seeking a friendly front desk associate to greet patients, schedule appointments, and provide clear guidance with outstanding customer service.

You will verify insurance, perform Axium scheduling and registration, collect copays, and coordinate with the business office on outstanding balances to maintain smooth patient flow and accurate records.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED and 1-3 years of general work experience.
• AA/AS may be substituted for 4 years of required work experience.
• BA/BS may be substituted for up to 4 years of work experience.

Responsibilities

• Greets and directs patients for appointments, referrals, and general information utilizing excellent and effective customer service skills.
• Answers telephones, screens calls, takes messages, and schedules appointments using the Axium scheduling system.
• Ensures that patients are scheduled with appropriate urgency and clear instructions.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and assists in collecting payments.
• Collaborates with the business office on unpaid balances from prior visits.
