Howard University is seeking a Clinical Account Representative I to serve as the first contact for patients and affiliated practices. You will handle inbound calls, follow scheduling scripts, and help patients prepare for their visits with clear instructions and courteous service.

This role emphasizes accurate data entry in Allscripts, patient-centered communication, and meeting QA targets in a high-volume call center.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of experience in a high-volume call center.
• Experience with Scheduling, Registration and Call Handling.
• Experience using Allscripts or similar medical scheduling system.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to operate standard office equipment.

Responsibilities

• Schedule appointments for patients and manage large volumes of inbound calls.
• Answer telephone promptly and follow the communication script.
• Enter accurate demographic information into Allscripts.
• Schedule appointment correctly—date, time, location, provider.
• Inform caller of items to bring to appointment (insurance card, meds, copay).
• Remind caller to arrive 15–30 minutes before scheduled appointment.
• Answer questions and provide patient-focused service, positive impression.
• Identify caller needs, research issues, provide solutions.
• Meet Quality Assurance requirements and other KPIs.
• Maintain organization, multitask, set priorities, manage time.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
