Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• 3 years experience in a medical setting handling busy practice including typing, telephone contact, insurance and referrals, decision-making skills, interpersonal communication skills, organizational ability and data entry computer experience.
• Related patient service experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
• Ability to act independently and manage insurance/referral issues and patient lateness per provider preferences.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients warmly and direct them to waiting areas.
• Perform check-in processes: update demographics/insurance, collect referrals and co-pays, schedule appointments.
• Assist with registrar functions and training for new staff; support workflow changes.
• Assist with billing tasks, including informing patients of outstanding balances and upcoming procedures.
• Organize and prepare daily batch; monitor appointment schedules for conflicts and communicate changes.
• Communicate scheduling changes to providers and staff in a timely manner.
