Jefferson seeks a Patient Access Representative to register patients, verify insurance, and collect demographics for outpatient visits. You will search for and assign medical records, verify coverage using Real Time Eligibility and payer websites, and ensure proper referrals are on file.

Responsibilities include collecting out-of-pocket liability, working across outpatient registration and ED points of service, and maintaining accuracy in the EHR (EPIC/Cerner) while delivering excellent customer

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; an Associate degree in healthcare or business administration preferred.
• Emergency Department experience: at least 3 years in hospital/physician practice or related healthcare setting with strong customer service.
• Current Jefferson Seamless Access Representatives with ≥1 year of experience will be considered as meeting the experience requirement.

Responsabilités

• Register patients and gather complete demographic and insurance information.
• Verify insurance and determine patient liability, referrals and authorizations as needed.
• Use EPIC or Cerner for charting and order entry; collect vital information accurately.
• Communicate with patients and families to provide a positive experience and explain processes.
