Job summary

MedStar Health’s Washington Hospital Center is seeking a friendly, patient-focused receptionist to greet visitors and serve as the first point of contact in the department. The role coordinates patient flow, registers patients, collects co-pays, schedules appointments, and updates demographics and insurance information while maintaining a high standard of customer service and accuracy.

You will support time-of-service processing, answer calls, and facilitate referrals and test requisitions,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One year of relevant education may substitute for one year of required work experience.
• Experience in healthcare customer service preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients courteously and coordinate initial contact.
• Register patients and collect co-pays and TOS payments.
• Schedule appointments and manage test requisitions.
• Explain insurance responsibilities and verify information.
• Maintain patient records and ensure data accuracy.
• Support team to maintain smooth patient flow throughout the day.
