Job summary

Essentia Health - Virginia Clinic seeks a Patient Access role to greet and register patients, collect demographics and financial details, and coordinate scheduling. You will liaise with Virtual Registration Representatives and Patient Schedulers to ensure accurate data for care and billing, while maintaining high quality customer service.

Preferred candidates have prior Patient Access or Scheduling experience and may pursue certification within six months of hire.

Qualifications

• Interviews patients to obtain complete demographic and financial details.
• Provides courteous, professional registration and customer service.
• Manages miscellaneous clerical tasks and scheduling per guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients to obtain demographic and financial information for registration and billing.
• Obtains insurance cards and updates patient information in the medical record.
• Collects patient co-payments, reconciles cash, and reports deposits.
• Maintains work queues and assists with scheduling follow-ups.
• Answers calls, schedules appointments, and supports clinical team as needed.
• Sanitizes equipment and restocks supplies.
• Performs other clerical duties as assigned.
