Job summary

VCU Health seeks a Patient Access Representative to deliver quality customer service to patients, families, visitors, and staff. You will handle reception, scheduling and registering patients for appointments and procedures, verify insurance eligibility, enter data into systems, and collect co-pays when applicable.

You will assist with financial counseling/clearance as needed and support daily clerical operations with minimal supervision in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Proficient with computers, MS Office and Internet navigation.
• Typing speed of 40 words per minute or faster.

Responsibilities

• Provide reception, scheduling and patient registration for appointments and procedures.
• Verify patient information and insurance eligibility; entering data accurately.
• Collect co-pays when applicable and assist with financial counseling/clearance as needed.
• Follow department policies and ensure courteous, respectful service to patients and staff.
