Job summary

Sentara Health in Virginia Beach, VA seeks a Patient Access Representative to handle patient registration, verify identity, and enter demographics and insurance data into the EHR. You will review physician orders, scan documents, and explain complex forms while collecting co-pays and balances.

Qualifications

• 2 years of Customer Service and/or Data Entry.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in lieu of two years of experience.
• Proficiency in Keyboarding.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and verify identity, selecting the correct patient record.
• Review schedules and physician orders to register for the appropriate service.
• Scan documents (insurance cards, ID, Living Wills, POAs) and enter demographic and insurance data.
• Explain and complete regulatory documents; collect co-payments, deposits, and balances.
• Greet patients, answer questions, and guide them to service areas; may perform scheduling, pre-admission, and discharge duties.
