Job summary

UVA Health is seeking an experienced Access Associate to manage multi-specialty scheduling, patient check-in/out, and registration. You will interact with patients, families, and referring providers to ensure timely appointments with correct records and clear communication.

• Proven ability to handle multiple scheduling tasks accurately and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Independently answer phones, schedule and confirm appointments, and maintain schedules.
• Register patients, take payments, and provide receipts.
• Abstract appropriate health data into the EMR and ensure records are properly labeled.
• Resolve scheduling conflicts and coordinate with care teams; reschedule as needed.
• Ensure referrals and insurance information are attached to appointments and verified.
• Communicate with patients and families; follow standard procedures and HIPAA privacy requirements.
• Produce no-show and cancellation letters as required and maintain daily attendance in scheduling systems.
