Job summary

UVA Health is hiring an Access Associate in Ambulatory Access Operations to ensure accurate, timely scheduling and registration while providing high-quality patient service. You will support clinical care and revenue cycle readiness by handling demographics, insurance data, verifications, and documentation with professionalism.

You will interact via phone and in person, coordinating with providers, assisting patients with tools, and contributing to continuous improvement within the Access team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service in person and by phone.
• Schedule and coordinate appointments with the correct provider.
• Collect and verify demographics and insurance information for clean registrations.
• Perform verification tasks per scheduling/registration standards.
• Complete visit documentation accurately and within expected timeframes.
• Manage cash collections as needed and respond to questions professionally.
• Provide patients with paper and electronic tools for visits.
• Stay engaged with team goals and continuous improvement.
