Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Patient Access Scheduling Agent to be the first point of contact for patients seeking care. You will schedule across clinics, gather demographics and insurance information, and secure records to support care delivery. Excellent English communication is essential.

Minimum high school diploma; associate degree preferred. This non-exempt, day-shift role offers 40 hours weekly, with potential signing bonus and a collaborative health system.

Qualifications

• Strong intrapersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Handles incoming phone calls from patients, families and referring providers to schedule patient appointments.
• Makes outbound phone calls to schedule appointments with specialists and subspecialists.
• Secure patient demographics, insurance information and account guarantor; collect patient liabilities.
• Secure medical records from outside organizations as needed for care.
• Schedule in-office procedures and room bookings as required.
• Prioritize visits and services to optimize provider time and resources.
• Maintain compliance with departmental policies and safety regulations.
