Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester is seeking a Patient Access Scheduling Agent to serve as the front door for patients, coordinating appointments across clinics and handling demographic and insurance information. You will secure necessary records and assist with in-office procedures while providing courteous, accurate service.

The role requires strong English communication and customer service skills, with opportunities for a signing bonus.

Qualifications

• Requires English proficiency in listening, speaking, reading and writing.
• Strong intrapersonal and communication skills are required.
• Prior scheduling or phone customer service experience is preferred.
• Experience in a health care setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle incoming calls to schedule patient appointments across multiple clinics.
• Make outbound calls to schedule appointments with specialists.
• Collect and verify patient demographics, insurance information and liabilities.
• Obtain medical records as needed for appointments.
• Schedule in-office procedures and coordinate appropriate rooms.
• Ensure efficient use of physician time and resources.
• Adhere to departmental policies and safety regulations.
