Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, MA is seeking a Patient Access Scheduling Agent to greet patients, gather demographics and insurance details, and schedule appointments across multiple clinics and providers.

This front-line role emphasizes exceptional service, clear communication, and accuracy in financial data. Typical hours are Monday to Friday 9:00am–5:30pm; full-time 40 hours, with some schedules prorated for part-time.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Associate degree preferred in business or healthcare.
• English-speaking with strong reading/writing skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Previous scheduling or phone customer service experience preferred.
• Previous healthcare experience preferred.
• Bilingual abilities welcome.

Responsibilities

• Handle incoming calls from patients to schedule appointments across multiple clinics and providers.
• Make outbound calls to schedule appointments with specialists.
• Collect patient demographics, insurance information, and account guarantor; update information as needed and collect patient liabilities.
• Obtain relevant medical records from outside providers to ensure clinicians have necessary information.
• Schedule in-office procedures and arrange rooms for procedures as needed.
