Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years of previous patient scheduling/registration work experience in a healthcare setting
• Strong customer service skills and patient/customer centered focus in positive manner in all situations
• Three (3) years' work experience with medical insurance, HMO, managed care, GE/IDX, Cerner order entry; appointment scheduling and medical terminology
• High school graduate or equivalent
• Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or closely related field

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and schedules appointments for multiple locations and services.
• Reviews medical records, appointment lists, or scanned documents to ensure complete information for evaluation.
• Interfaces with nursing staff regarding appointment appropriateness and preauthorization as required.
• Monitors cancellations, processes them promptly, and uses wait lists to improve access.
• Provides quality customer service to patients, families, visitors, staff, and clinicians with courtesy and respect.
