Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is seeking a Patient Access Representative to manage patient intake in our clinic, handling check-in and check-out, collecting data, payments, and validating insurance.

You will greet patients in person and by phone, schedule appointments, process referrals and authorizations, and enter information into the electronic medical record with accuracy and care.

Qualifications

• One year of customer service work experience
• Two years of customer service work experience preferred
• Healthcare or Call Center experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Registers and/or checks patients in/out.
• Performs patient check-in at the time of visit; records and verifies all demographic, insurance and other information; follows procedures to ensure registration guidelines are satisfied; identifies deficiencies and escalates as needed.
• Conducts routine insurance eligibility verifications.
• Copies/scans patient access related materials into the electronic medical record.
• Records non-clinical charges from various sources.
• Handles and reconciles payments.
