Job summary

Corewell Health in Big Rapids is seeking a Part-time Patient Registration Specialist to support accessing services, educate patients and staff, and resolve issues. The role involves inbound/outbound calls, online chat, and email communications to ensure exceptional patient experience.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, scheduling appointments, checking in/out, maintaining records in EPIC, and adhering to safety and quality guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred: 1 year of relevant experience in insurance billing, access management, patient financial services, electronic health records, lab service support or other related fields.

Responsibilities

• Greet and communicate with patients or visitors.
• Answer practice phone calls and schedule patient appointments using a decision tree where applicable.
• Register patients and confirm demographics and insurance information; assist with self-registration and arrival; schedule follow-ups.
• Maintain patient medical records and upload documents into EPIC; basic EMR/EHR scanning.
• Participate in safety initiatives and complete required competencies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
