Job summary

Sur La Table is seeking a Chef Instructor, Pastry to lead in-store pastry classes, share baking techniques, and inspire guests with expert instruction that supports all company initiatives. You will drive sales of bakeware, mixers, and decorating tools through hands-on demonstrations and exceptional service.

As the in-store pastry expert, you will deliver best-in-class customer experiences, stay current on products, and communicate complex techniques in a clear, encouraging way.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of employment.
• A degree in culinary arts is preferred; extensive culinary experience may substitute.
• 1-2 years of kitchen operations experience.
• Valid Food Manager Certification.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Passion for community engagement and providing exceptional customer experiences.

Responsibilities

• Represent Sur La Table’s brand and create memorable, educational experiences that inspire repeat visits and customer loyalty.
• Deliver pastry and baking class experiences reflecting the company’s passion for food, teaching, and high standards.
• Communicate technical concepts and advanced pastry skills clearly and encouragingly.
• Maintain product knowledge and engage in available training to stay current.
