Sur La Table is seeking a Chef Instructor, Pastry to lead hands-on pastry classes, share baking techniques, and inspire guests while driving related product sales. The role emphasizes delivering high-quality instructional experiences and maintaining pastry standards across sessions.

The position supports customer engagement and brand representation, with schedule flexibility to accommodate class offerings and events in-store.

Qualifications

Must be 21 years of age or older at time of employment.
A culinary arts degree is preferred; however, candidates with extensive culinary experience and demonstrated technical proficiency will be considered in lieu of formal education.
1–2 years of kitchen operations experience.
Valid Food Manager Certification.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Passion for community engagement and providing exceptional customer experiences.

Responsibilities

Represent Sur La Table’s brand and culture by creating memorable, educational experiences that inspire repeat visits and customer loyalty.
Deliver in-store pastry classes focused on baking and pastry arts that reflect Sur La Table’s standards, following recipes and game plans for consistency.
Communicate technical pastry concepts in a clear, encouraging manner.
Drive class revenue by ensuring high enrollment, positive reviews, and guest return rates.
Assist with class setup, mise en place, ingredient prep, and cleanup.
