Job summary

Sur La Table is seeking a Chef Instructor, Pastry to lead hands-on pastry classes and engage customers with expert baking instruction in-store. You will drive enrollments, showcase pastry techniques, and promote bakeware and decorating tools while reflecting the brand’s passion for food and education.

The role requires strong pastry knowledge, customer service excellence, and the ability to communicate complex techniques clearly.

Qualifications

• 21 years of age or older.
• Degree in culinary arts preferred; extensive culinary experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
• 1–2 years of kitchen operations experience.
• Valid Food Manager Certification.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Passion for community engagement and providing exceptional customer experiences.

Responsibilities

• Represent Sur La Table’s brand and culture by creating memorable, educational experiences that inspire repeat visits and customer loyalty.
• Deliver in-store pastry classes and drive class enrollment and guest return rates.
• Communicate technical pastry concepts in a clear, encouraging manner and maintain expertise by staying current on products and training resources.
• Assist with class setup, mise en place, and sanitization to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
