Job summary

LifeWise Academy seeks a part-time substitute teacher to deliver LifeWise classes using our curriculum in a faith-based educational setting. You will follow lesson plans, maintain a positive classroom environment, and support student learning while upholding LifeWise policies.

The role requires active church involvement, a mature Christian faith aligned with our beliefs, and strong communication skills. Training is provided; hours are as-needed and compensation is hourly.

Qualifications

• Must hold a mature personal Christian faith aligned with LifeWise beliefs.
• Active participation in a local church whose doctrine aligns with LifeWise beliefs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills suitable for teaching students.

Responsibilities

• Complete substitute teacher training and teach LifeWise classes on an as-needed basis.
• Implement lesson plans using LifeWise curriculum provided by the teacher.
• Maintain a safe, organized and stimulating classroom following LifeWise policies.
• Follow the program's student discipline policy.
• Take attendance and provide records to the teacher.
• Maintain a clean, attractive and well-ordered classroom and know emergency procedures.
• Act as LifeWise ambassador in the community and communicate plans with volunteers and the teacher.
