Job summary

Carowinds in North Carolina is seeking a seasoned Retail Operations Manager to oversee merchandise and games across the park. You will lead seasonal managers, optimize inventory, and drive guest service excellence while aligning with financial goals.

The role requires strong leadership, adaptability, and a proven track record in large-scale retail operations, with the ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays. This position is full-time and on-site at the park.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years related experience in large scale retail operations management.
• Amusement park or similar operational experience preferred.
• Ability to pass a mandatory or random drug test.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Excels in a fast-paced changing environment.
• Understanding of federal, state and local labor laws.
• Knowledge of accounting procedures, profit/loss statements, general ledger, and point of sales systems.
• Proven leadership skills and experience managing continuous process improvement.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including most weekends and often holidays.

Responsibilities

• Manages the planning, coordinating and implementing of some or all retail operations, ensuring compliance with policies and safety standards. Develops Park associates and promotes division goals daily.
• Supervises seasonal staff, including instructing, assigning, reviewing and planning work, hiring and promotions, coordinating schedules and addressing issues.
• Develops, implements and evaluates quality assurance measures; maintains store standards and coordinates product programs.
• Achieves financial goals by managing labor and revenue budgets and monitoring expenses across park retail locations.
• Formulates pricing strategies by reviewing sales, monitoring inventory levels and profit margins.
• Interacts with managers and staff; prepares and delivers professional presentations on performance and strategy.
• Adheres to Carowinds policies, including safety, appearance and guest service commitments.
• Other duties as assigned.
