Job summary

Carowinds is seeking a Merchandise Manager to oversee daily merchandise operations park-wide. This hands-on leader will drive profitability, safety, guest service, and associate development in alignment with Carowinds’ mission and standards.

The role leads the Area Manager team to meet associate, guest, and financial goals while partnering with local and corporate teams to optimize product flow and stock levels across locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a related field (Business/Marketing/Merchandising).
• 6–8 years of merchandise/retail industry experience.
• 3–5 years of experience leading and supervising a large team.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Strong presentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Leads, trains, and develops direct reports with coaching to drive productivity and morale.
• Ensures Retail competencies, brand delivery, safety, budgeting, inventory, and loss prevention across operations.
• Partners with local and corporate teams to develop strategies for product flow and stock optimization.
• Establishes and executes visual merchandising plans to create engaging store displays.
• Monitors Sales, KPIs, and budgets to forecast performance and plan appropriately.
• Maintains safety culture and ensures regulatory compliance.
• Responds to guest inquiries and participates in the Manager on Duty rotation.
• Oversees multiple revenue-related areas (Merchandise, Games, Photo, Rentals, Warehousing).
