Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources (DNCR) is seeking a Maintenance/Construction Technician II to perform semi-skilled trades, maintenance, and grounds upkeep at William B. Umstead State Park in Raleigh, NC.

The role includes operating equipment, and may involve supervising staff or volunteers on special projects. Typical schedule is Monday to Friday, 7am–4pm, with on-call rotation and possible after-hours work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 1 year of progressive experience in the trades.
• Equivalent education/experience may be accepted.
• EPA certification may be required for certain tasks (Type I/II/III or Universal).

Responsibilities

• Perform semi-skilled trades (carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, auto mechanics).
• Operate large and small equipment and tools.
• Maintain grounds, buildings and facilities; assist in housekeeping.
