Do you enjoy working outside and with your hands? The NC State Parks has a Maintenance Construction Technician III position available. This role is responsible for maintaining state park grounds, buildings, facilities, and equipment. Position assist park rangers and additional maintenance staff performing custodial duties, park boundary line clearing and maintenance, trail maintenance, trash collection, mowing, trimming, prescribed burns and/or auto mechanics.

Recruitment Range: $41,206.00 - $55,000.00
Typical work schedule is Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 4:00pm; includes evening shifts and weekends on a rotating schedule. Must work weekends and holidays on-call rotation. Must be able to perform work inside and outside in various environmental conditions with or without a reasonable accommodation. Must have the ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects with our without a reasonable accommodation. Must have a valid driver’s license issued from within the United States or be able to obtain one within 90 days of employment. This Position is designated as Essential/Mandatory and is required to work adverse weather events and may be called to work special events. Within 12-24 months of hire date, must have the ability to obtain and maintain: CPR Certification, Emergency Medical Responder Certification, Wildland Fire Suppression Certifications, Certified in S-112 Chainsaw Operations Training - perform hazardous tree assessments and if necessary, tree removal within the park. Within 36 months of hire date, must have the ability to obtain and maintain: Successfully complete Fundamentals of Search and Rescue (FUNSAR).
