Job summary

The State of North Carolina - Natural and Cultural Resources seeks a Maintenance/Construction Technician II (S) at William B. Umstead State Park in Raleigh to perform semi-skilled trades, maintain grounds, buildings, and equipment.

The role includes custodial tasks and occasional supervision of staff or volunteers. Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of related experience; an equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus one year of related experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.
• Experience in at least two trades (carpentry, plumbing, electrical, or auto mechanics) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform semi-skilled trades in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC and facility maintenance.
• Operate large and small equipment and maintain records and forms.
• Support grounds maintenance, trash collection, and landscape upkeep; may supervise staff or volunteers.
