Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, Division of Parks and Recreation, is seeking a Maintenance/Construction Technician II (S) at New River State Park to maintain park grounds, buildings, facilities, and equipment.

Responsibilities include trades work (carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, auto mechanics), operating equipment, purchasing resources, maintaining records, and possibly supervising staff or volunteers.

Qualifications

• High school or GED diploma and one year of progressive experience in the trades.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.
• Must meet license and certification requirements as noted.

Responsibilities

• Perform semi-skilled tasks in trades such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC and facility maintenance.
• Operate large and small equipment and tools.
• Purchase resources in line with state policies.
• Maintain records and prepare forms.
• Assist in housekeeping.
• May supervise temporary or permanent staff and volunteers on projects.
