Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources (DNCR) is seeking a Maintenance/Construction Technician III (S) to support Raven Rock State Park. This role maintains park grounds, buildings, facilities, and equipment, and may supervise volunteers on special projects.

Required are a high school diploma or GED and two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination. A $1,700 sign-on bonus is offered, contingent on funding availability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus two years of progressive experience in the assigned trade areas
• Demonstrated experience in carpentry, plumbing, electrical and/or auto mechanics
• Experience with grounds maintenance/landscaping and building facilities maintenance
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints/structural specifications and/or building codes

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled tasks in trades such as plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC and facility maintenance
• Operate a variety of tools and equipment
• Maintain records and prepare operational forms
• Assist in housekeeping and supervise volunteers on special projects
