Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources is seeking a Maintenance/Construction Technician II for South Mountains State Park in Connelly Springs, NC. The role involves performing semi-skilled trades, maintaining park facilities and grounds, and operating equipment as part of a team.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED with one year of trades experience; an equivalent education/experience mix is accepted.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and one year of progressive experience in the assigned trade areas.
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• EPA Type I/II/III or Universal technician certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform semi-skilled trades such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC and auto mechanics.
• Operate large and small equipment and tools.
• Purchase resources in accordance with state purchasing policies and procedures.
• Maintain records and prepare operational forms.
• Assist in housekeeping.
• May supervise temporary and permanent staff, community service participants, and/or volunteers on special projects.
